Genealogy
I receive numerous emails from people with genealogical questions. I love to hear from people who visit the site, and am always delighted to get a message from someone who is an ancestor of an early settler -- or some other figure in Detroit history. However, since I know nothing about genealogy, I can rarely, if ever, answer the questions I am asked regarding the topic. The best I can do is to direct people to other places.
Since the topic is so popular, I have decided to provide some links to sources that will be helpful to anyone interested in Detroit genealogy.
Google is the best search engine around. If the information below doesn't help, go to Google and enter the surname you are looking for and "genealogy". For instance, "smith genealogy". And run a search.
