Donald Campbell

On December 23, 1760, Captain (soon to be major) Donald Campbell succeeded Major Robert Rogers, becoming the second commandant of Fort Detroit under British rule. Previous to settling in Detroit, Campbell led the Royal American Regiment in Pittsburgh. In 1762, Campbell took a step down to second in command as Major Henry Gladwin became commandant. In July of 1763, Campbell was murdered by Native Americans.
