Francois Marie Picote de Belestre (II)

Francois Marie Picote de Belestre was born in Montreal in 1719. His father was Francois Marie Picote de Belestre. On July 28, 1738, Belestre married Marie Anne Nivard. They had six children. On January 29, 1753, Belestre married Marie Anne Magnan.

In 1758, Belestre became the thirteenth official commandant of Fort Ponchartrain. His term ened in 1760 with the end of French rule in Detroit.
