Jacques Charles Sabrevois, Sieur de Bluery

Jacques Charles Sabrevois, Sieur de Bluery was born in 1667 to Henri and Gabrielle (Matrin) Sabrevois. He was a lieutenant in the French army during the war with the Iroquois (1695-96). On November 16, 1695, Sabrevois married Jean Boucher. The coulpe had six children.

In 1712, Sabrevois was appointed commandant of Fort Ponchartrain. He didn't assume the post until he arrived at the settlement in 1714 (or early 1715).

While commadant, Sabrevois used personal money to begin reparations to the fort. The job was not done when he was recalled to Quebec in 1716 or 1717. He was never reimbursed.

In 1718, Sabrevois was made Chevalier of the Military Order of St. Louis. He served as commandant at Fort Chambly from 1721 to 1724. He served as Major of Montreal until his death on June 19, 1727.
